Merry Christmas, Amber, Terry and Max! I hope 2025 is a great year for you :) with plenty of books sold and NO jury duty. I'm nearly 57 and never been called but have always dreaded it. I've probablsy jinxed myself now!

I am so annoyed the audio book is still not available from apple books (might have something to do with accessing the app from Germany). I imagined very cozy evenings of listenting to "Ghostwriter of Christmas Past" while knitting a Christmas present. But on the ther hand, I won't be finished knitting by tommorrow evening and need to gift a voucher for the scarf-to-be. So I can just as well continue this plan in January when the audio book is hopefully availabe (to me) at long last. :D

I wish you and your family a happy Christmas, Amber! Thank you so much for taking us with you on this journey - weather it's writing a novel or declining jury duty.

Oh no! I just checked, and it’s not available here either on Apple Books, so it’s not just you! Apple Books is a bit strange in that some books seem to go on there right away and other ones take ages for some reason, but hopefully it won’t be long now! Have a lovely Christmas 💗

Oh no! I hope it works out as best as possible for you. I was excused because I was recovering from medical treatment, but my time will surely come again soon. My husband has been called a few times. It seems you can be asked to serve more often in Scotland than you can in England and Wales.

Merry Christmas Amber, Terry and Max ! 🎄🎄🎄

I can't believe you've been called for jury duty twice now, I don't know ANYONE who's ever been called just once! (Saying that, I bet I've jinxed it now and I'll be called, won't I...?!)

I am SO pleased you're really doing well with the fiction writing - I'm a couple of chapters into Ghostwriter and will leave a review once I'm done. I'm steaming through reading books as well as still writing my own at the moment, you've been such an inspiration where that's concerned and hope to be able to give up the stoopid occasional making video content jobs on social media (that I now hate but need to do for the money) and write for a living like you! :)

Have a fabulous Christmas Amber, and thank you for all your great stories xx

Three times! I had one about 15 years ago, too 🙈 Terry, meanwhile, has never had one in his life, and nor have quite a few other people I know! I know it’s just bad luck, but it’s honestly hard not to feel like you’re being picked on when you start getting them every few weeks!

I’m so glad you’re getting on with your book — here’s hoping 2025 is the year you get to make that leap! Happy Christmas to you, too 💗

Three times, OMG 🙈

I totally meant to say that I’m LOVING Ghostwriter so far! But if it’s written by you I *know* it’ll be good…!

I’m going to do a binge review session on all the books I’ve read of yours over Xmas, been meaning to do it for ages and I’m so sorry I haven’t yet x

You are not alone. Ever since we moved to Scotland I get called for Jury duty every year and every year work write me a letter that excuses me on the basis of my profession. And every year I get a reply that says you are off the hook..... for 1 year 🙄

I’ve heard so many people say things like this since I started looking into it… It seems some people go their entire life without ever getting one (Terry has never had one, for instance, and I’ve had three now!), and others seem to be ‘favourites’ who get called up repeatedly; it’s so frustrating 😩

Hi Amber,

A YouTube channel, what a good idea!

Who's the voice for your audiobooks, if I may ask?

They all have different narrators, but if you click on the video the narrator's name should be in the info underneath each one!

Might you do it if you’re called a third time? From what I can see it gives you a much stronger case for being excused if you’ve attended court in the last two years even if you don’t get chosen.

No, I still wouldn’t be able to do it — I can’t afford to just not work for however long it takes (the court they keep calling me for is a high court as well as sheriff court, so cases can last a long time), and I also wouldn’t be able to sit through something traumatic (which, again, is more likely with it being a high court) without it causing significant mental health issues. They say they’ve excused me for 12 months now, so I guess I’ll just have to see what happens if they call me again after that (which they almost certainly will, knowing my luck!).
