Just curious, and sorry if you already explained it (I'm so tired I don't remember), but what exactly is the benefit of having an agent over dealing with the publisher yourself?
Agents know the industry inside out, and are in a much better position to negotiate contacts etc, which I wouldn’t have a clue about! Also, most publishers won’t accept submissions directly from authors — they only go through agents, so it’s not just for this deal but for any future ones!
My eyebrow lady got me on to ACOTAR, was absolutely raving about it but to be honest, the first half felt a bit like Beauty and the Beast. Then it got a lot better, but I read Fourth Wing immediately after and loved it way more! I'll definitely read the rest of the series, not so sure abut ACOTAR.
Also loved the Thursday Murder Club, I've got the second one but I keep putting off reading it, it's just such a big heavy book and I have tiny hands! 😂
What did you think of the Thursday Murder Club? i read We Solve Murders and i just found the characters a bit bland. Unsure if i should try another of his books.
I'm glad that ACOTAR wasn't all doom and gloom for you! I haven't seen Severance personally other than a couple of clips but I did watch the seemingly equally popular Adolescence when it first came out and I was still baffled by it a few days later - did you end up watching it as well?
I did watch Adolescence - totally forgot that! I really liked it: I thought it was fascinating and so well done with the way it was filmed all in one shot.
Dragons 100% better than faeries!
TEAM DRAGON! 🙌🏻

Oh, I see! Thank you 🙂
Love the shelves!
"so I guess I wouldn’t get to be a member of the murder club, because I’d always be turning up on the wrong day for it…"
😆😆😆😆

I believe ACOTAR is supposed to be a Beauty and the Beast retelling — I definitely preferred Fourth Wing too, though!
Ohhh that makes so much sense! 🤦♀️😂

I really enjoyed it! Definitely didn’t find the characters bland in this one - I haven’t read We Solve Murders, though!
I'll give it a go! <3
Severance has given me a whole new level of respect for Ben Stiller. It's genius.
Yeah, I was surprised when I saw his name on the credits - it’s just so good!

Same! It was so well done
