Oh my goodness, I had the exact same reaction to the bonus feature. I just wanted the film to start!! I go to the cinema a lot and that was a particularly bad movie for all the “pre movie stuff”. Ridiculous. I mean which genius decided that a kids’ movie is the best one to add extra fluff onto?? Rage 🤣
I had a phobia of the cinema for a long time (don't ask) so never been a massive fan either. Totally agree about the too loud. When I eventually mostly got over it, so I could be 'normal', I did enjoy trips to the cinema in the town I went to Uni. There was often an interval in longer films, and they would sell ice cream and you could go to the loo. They also had some double seats that were nice and comfy and it was cheap. Sadly it closed down. 😞 I do often think the old fashioned cinemas are better, tho my sister is always raving about the Everyman cinema near her, not sure if they've made it to Scotland tho...
I went to uni in Edinburgh, and there were a couple of old fashioned cinemas there I used to like, although I'm not sure if it was just that people used to behave better in them, back in the day... I don't seem to remember people wanting to talk loudly through the movie, or take phone calls or whatever, but that might just be nostalgia talking!
You're doing well to keep Max onboard with the whole cinema thing... birthday 'parties' get a lot cheaper when they move into the 'cinema & pizza with a few friends' stage of childhood. 👏 👏
Just to give you the heads-up... Go Ape requires one adult per 2 kids... which made it my least favourite 'party' as I was in charge of the 'group' in between my Ex (son's Dad) and my Current (son's Step Dad), and I'm not good with heights. Longest afternoon of my life. 😂

I thought we were going to be there all day 😆

Yeah, I don't remember people talking on their phones either! But everyone had Nokia's then I think 😂

Oh, I can't wait to reach that stage! We're still very much in the "everyone comes to our house and trashes it" stage, and it's the WORST!
That really is the worst!
Softplay is the next stage, and a doozy, as they are all exhausted by the end of the session. Something to look forward to! 😘 🥳
We've been looking into soft-play parties, but they're sooo expensive! Probably worth it to not have to tidy up afterwards, though!
