I’m honestly stunned at how the internet has exposed the number of people with zero sense of humour and a lot of time on their hands; they’re obviously scrolling, scrolling, scrolling just to find ANYBODY to argue with. Though saying that, I should be more tolerant really as I’ve heard of this before: I think they were born with a condition where they have an excess of the pedantry you mentioned. They have to expedite it daily or their nervous systems will shut down. I think the condition is called Pendantriosis Arseholis, it’s very common among middle aged men and women who want to see the manager. Shame, because they lack the ability to appreciate your fabulously entertaining writing Amber (unlike me and so many others). We’re very lucky we don’t have that awful, debilitating condition x

"Pendantriosis Arseholis" is definitely a thing on social media 😆

I do feel like there's a real absence of humor in general on the Internet these days. It used to be possible to have lighthearted chats with people without worrying that someone was going to take offense in some way, but everyone is so very serious and earnest now that it feels like everything you say has the potential to turn into an argument/lecture. I've always had a very self-deprecating sense of humor, and people generally used to understand that and take it in the spirit it's intended, but I've gradually been toning it down because I find now that it'll often just get me a well-meaning lecture about how I need to 'love myself' or be less negative, or whatever... which is so incredibly wearing when you're just trying to inject a bit of humor into a story!

Oh god, Amber, how awful. I’m not on Threads much so I missed it. Why are people so unnecessarily mean 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was honestly so bizarre - I had no idea people could be so angry over bottled water!

My theory about Threads is that it has allowed people who previously only used Facebook to access a Twitter-like environment and they just lack the snark, sarcasm and humour to understand any of it.

I’m sorry you had to be reminded, yet again, how many absolute heels there are with access to the internet. Also, I’m sorry that an innocent photo of a pallet was deleted. I for one am always here for any pallet-based content, especially if it’s one I can turn into one side of a compost bay.
