Wow, Amber - I knew quite a bit about you having read your blog for many years, but my goodness there was so much I didn't know, so much heartbreak 😢
It only seems a couple of years ago that Max was born after you had so much sadness, but wow what a little champion he is. The people that stopped reading after you became a mum are the ones that missed out, you could honestly write about taking the bins out and make it entertaining, so WHY would anyone stop reading stuff like that?!! Your magnetic eyelashes review lives rent-free in my head, I'll never forget how much I laughed at the time 🤣🤣
Please, never ever stop writing stories - I'll read them no matter what form they take x
Thanks Catherine — I so appreciate that! (And, of course, the same goes for you!) I do understand why lots of people wouldn’t be interested in reading about parenting when they’d signed up for something completely different — I just wish I’d managed to find new readers who did!
Even as a long-term reader, many parts of your story were news to me. You experienced a lot more heartbreak than I could have imagined. But I also think your career path is truely inspiring because you fight to find something you like and do well. Not many people are that brave! And I am convinced your current profession of writing the most hilarious romance novels will pay off soon.
P.S. In other news: The Ghostwriter of Christmas Past audio book finally made it to Apple books (in English and German).
Oh, that's great news, I'm glad it made it eventually! And thanks so much for your continued support - it really does mean so much to me to know there are people who've been following for a long time and haven't been put off yet! 💗
Thank you for your life story. It is, contrary to what you think, very interesting, and also quite heartbreaking 😥
I remember very well the electric fence post which had me in stitches, but was first introduced to your blog by a hysterical story (I could not find it again) of you leaning against the glass wall of a car company. I was immediately sold to your writing style, and have enjoyed it more and more. Makes me think of Jerome K. Jerome and P. G. Wodehouse.
This was such a great read, Amber! I didn't know some of this, even the bits I was there for... (That's a joke - who could forget Rubin's blog? It was the funniest thing on the internet). Thanks for sharing your story with us – and for always being so candid and funny.

I also fondly remember the Fashion police 😁
Ooh! I think I remember that post! Could it have been this one, maybe?

That's totally it! Thank you 😁

Rubin's blog remains one of my best pieces of work ever - it's my legacy to the world, basically 😆
I'm so glad we ended up writing in the same place. I love your voice and I happily follow it (and you) wherever it goes (not in a stalker way)! x
Seeing as it's you, I wouldn't even mind if it *was* in a stalkery way, tbh 😆
